VoIP: A Consultant's Perspective

Jay Allen, VP of Marketing and Sales, F2 Incorporated, will be speaking about VoIP services for small and medium sized businesses.

 

He will discuss rolling out VoIP in office & enterprise settings, and what other services are available besides dial tone.

 

His presentation is geared towards computer consultants who want to stay on top of the latest VoIP technology available to their clients.

 

Jay will give practical advice to about what to look for in choosing VoIP companies, some expected and unforeseen costs, and possible benefits and potential pitfalls to watch out for when making the jump to VoIP.

 

He'll also be answering any visitor questions, and is accepting presubmission of questions too, through the OCCA board of directors.

Jay Allen has a BS in Chemistry from Portland State and a MBA from Oregon State. He has had several roles in the telecommunications industry, including IT Operations, business consulting, marketing and sales. In his role as a technical consultant he has worked with most of the major telecommunications equipment manufactures around the world. His current area of practice is in designing, building and operating highly available, highly scalable, VOIP solutions. Jay is a contributor to the Carrier Grade Linux (CGL) standards group. While at IBM, Jay was a contributor and officer of the Service Availability Forum (SAF).
