CODE OF ETHICS
INDEPENDENCE
OCCA Members will make full prior disclosure to potential and actual Clients of any vested interest(s) they may have with regard to the opinions, recommendations, etc., that they make and with regard to any ownership affiliations they have with other businesses or organizations.
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCE
OCCA Members will undertake or continue only consulting engagements which they can reasonably expect to complete with professional competence.
PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT
OCCA Members will not knowingly misrepresent facts, nor commit any act discreditable to the profession or to the Association, nor knowingly participate in any engagement whereby their professional skills will be used by a client to violate the law.
CONFIDENTIALITY
OCCA Members will honor the confidentiality of information obtained in the course of consulting engagements and not disclose or make use of such information without the prior written consent of the Client. This rule will not be construed as to conflict with any valid subpoena or summons enforceable by order of a court of law.

Membership Qualifications and Benefits
All full membership applicants must be sponsored by two current OCCA full Members in good standing. Associate membership applicants do not require sponsors. Applicants must certify they qualify for the level of membership being applied for and that they agree to have their names and/or business names emailed to all members for review. Further, applicants must agree that they and/or the companies they represent will subscribe to, abide by, and actively support OCCA Purposes, Code of Ethics, Bylaws, and Policies and that their OCCA membership may be denied or terminated for violations of the OCCA Bylaws or Code of Ethics.
Full Member Benefits
Full membership in the OCCA is open to any business or organization registered or licensed in accordance with the laws of the State of Oregon that provides computer related consulting services to the public in the State of Oregon for a fee and that actively supports OCCA purposes, goals, and objectives.
Benefits include all benefits of Associate members plus:
- Inclusion for possible referral from the website and telephone referral services
- A full web page listing in the OCCA website members directory
- Access to the members only section of the OCCA website
- Participation, if desired, in the OCCA email list
- Running for OCCA Officer and Board positions including President
- Use of the OCCA Mentoring program (2 hours consultation)
Associate Member Benefits
Associate membership in the OCCA is open to any individual (including employees of Full Member firms), business, or organization that actively supports OCCA purposes, goals, and objectives but does not wish to apply or are not qualified for full membership.
Benefits include:
- Access to the members only section of the OCCA website
- Participation in selected OCCA sponsored group benefits: trade show tables etc.
- Running for OCCA Officer (except President) and Board positions
- Use of the OCCA Mentoring Program (1 hour consultation)
- Participating in OCCA committees, speakers bureau, and selected groups
- Clear indication of membership will be made if the OCCA provides information to members regarding vendors
